Theme: Project Based Learning by James Freeman

Increasingly, educators are seeing the need to provide more realistic contexts for effective learning outcomes. This is where Project-Based Learning (PBL) comes in. We’ll consider the essential elements required to properly implement PBL along with its structure and the immense benefits it brings to learners. By presenting real-world problems for students to investigate and research – not only do we equip them to succeed academically but, more importantly, they are learning crucial life skills which will empower them beyond the classroom setting.

James Freeman

With a number of years in education, James is a passionate educator who has taught in the UK, China, Malaysia and Ecuador.

His last post before coming to Ecuador was as Head of Academic department for a Malaysian educational partner with Cambridge University Press where he oversaw Cambridge English programmes.

He is a certified speaking examiner for Cambridge English Language Assessment and has successfully prepared countless students for Cambridge English exams (primary and secondary).

His versatile classroom experience has seen him teach from very young learners and primary students through to working with secondary, university and Business English students.

Having lived across various regions (Caribbean, South America, Europe and Asia), James has insightful cultural awareness and sees education as a tool of empowerment, building self-confidence and unlocking a world of potential.
